If you’re an 80s cover band and you don’t do The Outfield’s “Your Love” as part of your setlist, you should probably turn in your hairspray. Like “Don’t Stop Believin’,” the song gets everybody going because everybody knows it, even though nobody knows the freaking words.
I’ve got two covers for you today, both of “Your Love.” The first is from Bon Iver that preserves the falsetto vocals but otherwise slows it down into something somber and folky. The other is from the Decemberists, and it’s an a loose, amusing ode to the unintelligible quality the song is known for.

What? No love for Katy Perry’s reinterpretation?
The Decemberists version is a lot of fun.
Bill: I’m not opposed to Katy Perry on a philosophical level, but I don’t own any of her music.
Susan: I have never heard The Decemberists do a cover that isn’t a lot of fun. They’re great at it. I’ve been trying to track down the “Crazy On You” they’re doing on their current tour, but have only been able to find it on YouTube.
